We have been so incredibly busy the last couple of weeks and we absolutely LOVE it! First, we want to say congratulations to all of our bride and grooms: Kate & Clayton, Raisha & Curry, Scott and Dacia, and Bonnie & James! We wish you all happy lives together!!

Kate & Clayton:
What a beautiful couple! Kate was Miss Utah 2010 and absolutely gorgeous! They were married in the Salt Lake Temple and had their reception at Pierpont. Their reception represented the two of them perfectly; it was classy and elegant. Cosmopolitan Catering did the food and it was to die for! As were the flowers... pictures to come! Kate's mom is from Russia and brought a lot of her Russian friends...can you say party?! Can't wait for you all to see the pics :)

Raisha & Curry:
This perfectly matched couple got married at the Hardware, which also fit the two of them VERY well. Although they were married at a different venue, we did absolutely ALL of the coordinating; it turned out absolutely beautiful! Even Curry walked out after their reception and said how perfect it was... we LOVE making our clients happy and getting to be a part of their special day. We couldn't have asked for a better turnout! Congrats again Raisha & Curry!

Scott & Dacia:
Simple and elegant. Beautiful wedding and reception at Pierpont! Again, these two couldn't be more perfect for each other! We could see and feel the never ending love between them all day and it was inspirational. Congratulations to the beautiful couple!

Bonnie & James:
Another incredibly successful wedding! They held both their wedding and reception at Pierpont and it looked amazing! Once again, I personally could feel how much they loved each other by the look in their eyes throughout the ceremony; and then there was the kiss. If you weren't sure how much they loved each other by that point, well... there was no question after that :) They were extremely happy with the way everything turned out; beautiful flowers, decor, and delicious food. They also had a classic guitarist play during their ceremony and I have never seen and heard something so romantic...great job! James' step-mom (Sharon Mitchell) plays in a local band in SLC, so if you know of them or get a chance to see them play, it will be worth it!

No Paws Left Behind:
Among all of these fabulous weddings, we also had a very important fundraiser for No Paws Left Behind at Kado (an art gallery in downtown SLC). It was absolutely perfect; red carpet event, casino, incredible ice sculpture, and fantastic food again by Cosmopolitan Catering. It is such a great cause and we couldn't be more happy to have been a part of it!

1st Annual Spooktacular Bash

What a night!! Our first annual Spooktacular Bash was quite a success, a special thanks to all who attended. The music was bumpin', drinks were flowin' and the ghoulish grub was to DIE for. Tom Catrow created a special Witches Stew, yummy Sushi Rolls and Cookies that looked like boney bloody fingers! The costumes were amazing this year and our contest was quite a hoot. The decor was a perfect Halloween theme complete with spider webs, black lights, smoke machine and cozy lounges-the event staff really outdid themselves this year. THANK YOU all who donated extra to the American Heart Association-we love giving back and supporting such a wonderful foundation. Start thinking of your costumes and we will see you again next year, BOO!

Pierpont Place welcomed the SLCVB for their western conference, which showcased how walkable SLC is. It started out as a great evening with a scavenger hunt activity that concluded at Squatters Pub and the guests headed over to PP for a banquet. As they wined and dined on all local cuisine, High West Whisky and Wasatch Beers were featured. Along with all local floral in which the lovely Janice and Ashley created together. Planners from Beverly Hills and North Carolina were quite impressed with the space (of course!) and were excited to take along with them some new inspiration and ideas for their business.

I caught a glimpse of this wedding and all I can say is C-U-T-E!! With a color scheme of creme and copper, Pierpont Place took on a stunning fall look. A 50's theme throughout, this space was transformed with an arcade game, photo booth, framed invites lining the walls and scrabble inspired place settings. Culinary Crafts provided a fun spread of mini-grilled cheese sandwiches with roasted tomato bisque soup, mini hamburgers and french fries, buttermilk fried chicken and corn cobette. Let's not forget about dessert which included mini pumpkin pies (perfect for this time of year) milk shakes, doughnut holes, creme puffs and fresh fruit tarts-YUM. Premier Bar service featured POM martinis with a sugared rim and pomegranate seed garnish. Truly one of the cutest weddings I have seen in awhile :)

Xango, yes the healthy and delicious juice company, held their annual conference this year in downtown Salt Lake City. Afterwards, they held a fabulous dinner banquet catered to their Japanese employees, all taking place at Pierpont Place-where else?! The event was decked out in Xango's original colors of navy blue and orange with matching lanterns, table settings and floral design. Good work design team!

Pierpont Place was delighted to host a celebratory evening for Tomax-retail.net, the leading provider of retail software solutions and services. Customers include L.L. Bean, 24 Hour Fitness and just recently signed Jiffy Lube-to name a few. While attending the Visibility Conference at the nearby Hilton by day, guests were able to mingle and enjoy a cocktail afterwards provided by Premier-P.P's sister company providing excellent bar service. Hor D'oeuvres were served throughout the venue created by one of our favorite chef's Tom Catrow. A few of the offerings consisted of polenta with wild mushroom ragout, caprese salad, puff pastry with asparagus and smoked salmon pinwheels with goat cheese, lemon and chive. A yummy spread, if I do say so myself!

Dew Tour September 18, 2010

Toyota Antics, Filter Magazine and Pierpont Place all teamed up to host THE official Dew Tour After-Party on Saturday September 18, 2010. This is the third year for us and with the recession still effecting business, the Dew Tour pulled all of it's after parties except ours :)

I was lucky enough to catch up with Monique from Filter Magazine just prior to the event to briefly chat about what presence Toyota Antics and Filter Magazine has on big events such as the Dew Tour. She informed me about Filter Magazine's quest for featuring up-and-coming artists mostly from the L.A. West Coast music scene along with their East Coast affiliates. She is lucky enough to travel to music festivals and block parties amongst other exciting events.

Toyota's "Sweet Ride" consists of a Toyota Yaris in treat wrapping loaded with tons of candy along with the Toyota game car complete with old school arcade games.

A special photo booth was provided for guests along with a custom silk screen station in which you could design your very own T-shirt. Passed hors d'oeuvres were provided by Cosmopolitan Catering. Some of the delectable appetizers included: sesame chicken skewers, sliders, moroccan chicken, sweet pepper hummus and edamame served in bamboo cones.

DJ sets were performed by Hollywood Holt-straight outta Chicago and Salt Lake's very own Flash and Flare.

Underground Distillery featured their new herbal bitter that has a surprisingly similarity to Jagermeister, that mixes well with any beverage. The owners of Underground attended this event to promote Ogden's own distillery (a big shout out to the locals here!) Rooster's, also from Ogden provided local beer for this even. Thanks to everyone for their amazing diligence and hard work in executing such a magnificent event!

Pierpont Place was excited to host the awards ceremony of the Playboy MX-5 Cup, held at the Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele earlier that day. With Playboy and Mazda being the sponsors of this heated race, the awardees received red velvet robes that paralleled the likes of Hugh Hefner. With a White, Red and Black theme throughout, the setting took on a sports feel and Cosmopolitan catered an exquisite served and plated dinner. Yet again, the talented group of Pierpont Place was able to transform this amazing venue-always aiming to please.

Congratulations and Hooray for Kier and Maria, who are dear friends of Pierpont Place. Kier and Maria had quite a long engagement but we were happy for this day to finally come. Maria was very easy going with a simple, sleek and classic style. It was exciting for the couple to tie in their backgrounds of Japanese and Irish, as they had a traditional bagpiper play directly following the wedding ceremony. The venue was covered in summer colors of moss and traditional white with accents of fern along with fringe French tulips, orchids strewn and sprinkled throughout along with ranaculas and dahlias. A fabulous turnout for a wonderful and happy duo!

It has been a lengthy, yet fabulous journey for these two special people. Sarah and Tim were early bookers as they visited Pierpont Place, they knew it was the perfect spot to hold both their wedding ceremony and reception. Sarah’s colors fit her personality perfectly, which included simple black and bright pink, in which the entire event was decorated. Her flowers were fresh and bright including pink hydrangeas, orchids, roses, small calla lilies and white parrot tulips. The Daniel Day Trio played their fun musical covers in which the guests could not get enough of. What a magical evening and congrats to the newly married couple!

Liberty Mountain featuring everything outdoors held it’s private event with Pierpont Place hosting a European themed evening. Flags were strewn across the ceiling from six different countries to tie in the theme along with separate buffet stations featuring an array of specialty dishes from each individual country. Tom Catros really shone bright with his marvelous and creative cuisine. Along with Premier Bar service, there was a refreshing Italian Soda Bar in which guests got to choose their favorite flavors.

Giving Back is the New...Pierpont Place!

Welcome to Pierpont Place! Where the Saturday nights turn beautiful men and women into astounding, incredible feats of make-up and hair artistry! What fun it was to host Lunatic Fringe's 2nd Annual Fundraiser! This year, it was titled "Giving Back is the New Black", a theme that plays near and dear to our hearts, as Salt Lake City is always trying to play catch up in the fashion industry. The fashion-forward knowledge at Lunatic Fringe has always held a niche in our cosmetology industry, and this type of fashion show shows us exactly why that niche is not likely to disappear...
This fundraising event was the Finale event concluding a three month effort with Paul Mitchell the School. Since Lunatic Fringe owners Shawn & Angie are owners and partners in Paul Mitchell the School as well, they extended the fundraising effort through the salon's participation by holding the "Giving Back is the New Black" event.
The primary foundation to be supported by this massive consolidation of creativity and glory : -- The Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation, founded by the Dean of the Paul Mitchell Schools. The Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation was established to honor a Paul Mitchell cosmetology student whose struggle against mental illness ended tragically in suicide. The Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation helps disadvantaged or hard-hit cosmetologists and cosmetology-related enterprises. Funds have provided educational opportunities, relief and financial services and support in the fights against breast cancer, domestic violence and other destroyers of self-esteem.

The hair and makeup stylists at Lunatic Fringe donated time, energy, product, etc to put together the magnificent show you'll see below...Thus far we haven't seen any of these looks translate to mainstream fashion sense on the streets...but there are a couple I sure hope people adopt...

Not only do the stylists use natural hair and body contours for this show, but they bring in some of the most creative elements they can think of to add to the models' natural beauty.
Straw, feathers, fabric, colorful dyes, beads, yarn, etc. Anything you can think of that might be versatile enough to make the audience say "hmmm..." and "wow!" in quick succession, was added to the show.

This hair-raising (he he, I couldnt' help it...) fashion show was hosted at Pierpont Place last year for the first time, and we are SO glad they chose to come back! Giving Back is the New Black was bigger and better than before, and every new look that came out from the back was a new chance to "ooh" and "ahh" at the meticulous detail put into each look, and the absolute poise embodied by each model. Thanks to Mary Fresques and all the stylists at Lunatic Fringe for giving their time and effort to raise money for a cause that hits so close to home for so many within the involved party. These friendly and generous people are just the kind of people that we like to work with, and we love that they like to work with us too!
Lunatic Fringe, we'll look forward to having you back with us next year!

Silverline Security Gets A Tasty Treat, and the UWABC!

Pierpont Place was lucky enough to host a prestigious and friendly local company for their company luncheon on Saturday, March 27th. The luncheon was a great success for the whole group. Astounding and fresh food from the pioneer Sushi Surfer himself, chef Jonas Otsuji.
And I'll tell you right now, the Sushi Surfer's array of sushi and creative Asian cuisine options can't help but blow you away. While attending a wine tasting, I was thrilled to find that Chef Jonas Otsuji was the delicacy-provider of the evening, and his creations were scintillating to the taste buds at every turn.
LUCKY SILVERLINE!
The wonderfully accommodating company also wanted to provide their loyal employees with a little fun, and brought in some local celebrities to talk, inspire, and thoroughly amp up the sales force. Some of these fabulous meet-and-greet options were provided by Bob Nilsen, the CEO of the hugely successful local Cafe Rio, and Olympic Gold medalist Rulan Gardner.
With this combination of fun, food, and the fabulous atmosphere of Pierpont Place, Silverline hosted a wonderful event, and we hope to see them again next year!!

Coming up this week, we are hosting the monthly morning breakfast for the UWABC (Utah Women's Alliance for Building Community), a group of inspiring and exciting women...and a few brave (or smart, looking at the gender proportions) men...who come together once or twice a month to network, help each other, supply learning opportunities, and be a part of a bigger Salt Lake City organization.
This group puts on charity-supporting events, gets together for dinner and/or wine, and thoroughly supports each other, especially in this time of difficulty in professional realms. Every monthly meeting we have a few new members, many of whom introduce themselves by saying that they're currently looking for work, and within weeks they've been set up with new connections to create opportunities to find positions amongst the networks of their new UWABC friends. The weekend of the 19th-21st of March was really a roller-coaster of styles, motivations, guests, and time frames, but the one thing they all had in common? Pierpont Place and Premier Event Services blew them all out of the water!!

Friday, March 19th

On Friday night, Jade and Cody has an incredibly sweet family and friend-filled wedding. Their decor was through and through classy - complete with beautiful silver plated dishes serving tasty after-dinner mints, and a wonderfully cute touch of adding packs of playing cards on all the tables for the families to play with. What a fun way to keep things light and really encourage everyone to both celebrate and play together!

Their delicate and classy touches included glass figurines and personal touch embellished tags for Jade and Cody's friends and guests to write notes on...a nice bit of memorabilia for the beautiful bride and her handsome groom to have to remember this wonderful night!
We loved Jade and Cody's families and their willingness to jump right into the fray and have a great time - kicking off their shoes and dancing alongside with everyone! We love you Jade and Cody, and we're so happy to have been a part of your special day!

Saturday, March 20th

On Saturday night, Pierpont Place and our industrious staff really made history. With hours of manpower, coordination, heavy lifting, and delicate twining, we created a forest out of our gorgeous venue!

West High's Junior Class Officers have already proven themselves to be community pillars in the making. As true visionaries, they reached out of the box and selected a theme that would not challenge the creative minds of their students, but also (and much harder to do...) challenge the minds of Pierpont Place's experienced event coordinators. Their theme of "Where the Wild Things Are" was contemporary, fun, and absolutely new to the Junior Prom scene!
These officers were willing to take on this task that would not only take many hours of work to accomplish, but an unsurpassed amount of fund-raising as well! Traditionally, West High has had a frugal budget and modest expectations for design for their dances (we know, one of our staff members used to attend those dances!), but this year's Junior Class decided to take their leadership to a whole new level. Pierpont Place worked hand in hand with the students and (the wonderfully supportive and...) very involved parents to bring this concept to fruition. The reality of "Where the Wild Things Are" was truly impressive. Pierpont Place brought in a truck-full of real live (and dead) branches with the help of a healthy and diverse donation from Patty Carpenter. We lit the trees we created with colored up-lights and decorated the tables with creative and stunning but understated centerpieces that absolutely tied the look together.

The students even had the foresight to spring for a fun ice sculpture with electric punch served out of the two sides, and they knew they couldn't go wrong with the famous Prom DJ Kurt Harris.

Pierpont Place and West High proved to be fabulous partners in this coordination effort, and together, we blew the expectations out of the water!

Sunday, March 21st

On Sunday, we finally saw the actualization of a wedding we've been waiting for for months! Rachel and Blake are a beautiful couple who have been on our minds for the better part of the last year - creating a new precedent for the beauty we create at Pierpont Place!

Rachel had a real vision for the wedding she was looking to have - as a veteran of the event industry (Blake, too!) herself, she has a great vision for the way things will look together. She chose a stunning medley of bright spring-time colors: pinks, yellows, greens, taupes, and golds...and the combination worked out better than we ever expected!

Her eclectic taste also included a wonderful mix of flowers - ranuncula, roses, tulips, and more. And our florist created the most amazing bouquet for her special day!

We created very soft and welcoming lighting with uplights behind long drapes of sheer white cloth to change the entire atmosphere of Pierpont Place, and it was the perfect atmosphere for dancing!Cosmopolitan Catering served a delicious assortment of bites to satiate the rambunctious guests - and they had a wonderful time.

The SLC Junior League is definitely playing in the Majors!

Last Saturday was a chocolate frenzy! The Junior League of Salt Lake City brought their admirable classy style to Salt Lake's Premier Event Venue for their Annual Black and White Ball! On this night, they debuted their new three year collaborative community project to benefit the Salt Lake CAP Head Start Program. Such an important initiative deserved a big party! And the Junior League and Pierpont Place did not disappoint!

Nearly 200 people came to socialize, celebrate, and of course, to make the most of this opportunity to dress to the nines!
Guests were serenaded by the Joshua Payne Orchestra playing cool jazz with a Saturday night twist. We had a great variety of songs, including some from Radiohead, Oasis, and even M.I.A. Hearing the Joshua Payne renditions of these popular songs was really fun, and definitely got people moving!
Fabulous Dolcetti Gelato was served in Dolcetti's trademark serving cups - solving the age-old issue of trying to decide whether to finish your ice cream serving and stuff yourself...or give up the deliciousness! Dolcetti, we thank you for helping our taste buds and our tummies...Guests were also provided with an incredible array of chocolate delights by Simply Sweets, Amano Chocolates, Grand America, and more! But it didn't stop there, the Premier staffed bar even whipped up a chocolat-tini with cherry to complement the offerings!

At events of this caliber, the fun never ends! There was a silent and live auction to give guests a chance to win incredible prizes including get-aways, gift baskets, and more amazing gifts!

Needless to say, the Junior League of Salt Lake was all set to create the hype for their new collaborative project benefiting Salt Lake CAP Head Start, and Pierpont Place and Premier Event Services is glad to have been a part of it!

Coming up this weekend, we have Jade's wedding, West High's Junior Prom, and Rachel's wedding. All in a ROW! I can't wait to show you pictures and tell you about our hair-raising, nail-biting, sleep-depriving, sugar-fueled, mad-laugh filled weekend! Or at least that's what I'm hoping it will be.... :)

Toxicology! Rhymes with Mixology!

Last Tuesday, March 9th, Pierpont Place had the pleasure of hosting the Metabolon Event for the Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting Convention. We had an incredible time with this fun group of people - after a day on their feet they were ready to take a load off, enjoy some fabulous food from Cosmopolitan Catering, and celebrate with some of the trademark Premier Event Services bar creations!
I have to thank Matt Zaske of Metabolon for being such an amazing and gracious host for his friends and colleagues. Despite the rain coming down in unpredicted torrents right when his event was starting, Matt was running around outside right with our staff - pulling back up the easels and making sure the signs were visible for all his guests. Now that's a North Carolina man who's not afraid to get his hands dirty! :) We all had a great time chatting with Matt and his colleagues about the amazing work they're all doing in Toxicology: research, development, seminars, implementation of new products, etc. Needless to say - this type of stimulating event is extremely fun for our staff to partake in!
The drink of the night seemed to be Staci's trademark Bloody Mary. After being asked by one sweet woman whether a Bloody Mary was a reasonable request for our full bar, Staci ran downstairs to grab the necessary ingredients and whipped her up a Bloody Mary complete with horseradish, Bloody Mary mix, vodka, and Staci's special secret ingredient. To be honest - the initial request resulted in five (count 'em, five!) of the woman's friends coming over for a drink of their own! That's the magic of Staci, our bar manager!
Premier Event Services off-site coordination and bars really do go beyond the norm - our bar staff is second to none in personality, creativity, willingness to explore, and absolute level of FUN!

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures of this event, but I wanted to thank Matt Zaske and Metabolon for hosting this great event during the Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting here in Salt Lake City. Matt says he'll be back in May for another convention, and we can't wait to see him again!

Saturday night was the Junior League's Annual Black and White Ball - as soon as I get photos from this event I'll tell you ALL about it!

Spring is Here!

Happy warm weather to all of you out there! I know that snow storm last week gave us all a run for our money...but it looks like the sunshine is back in full strength!

I wanted to give everyone an update as to what's going on at Pierpont Place and with Premier Event Services during this fabulous month of March! We're really excited to be able to explore our creative abilities this month, with an eclectic mix of events and styles - you'll have to stay tuned to see the collage of our event designs, themes, and unique concepts! Here's a little bit of detail about what you can expect to see!

-As many of you may know, we host the monthly breakfast meetings for the UWABC (Utah Women's Alliance for Building Community) at Pierpont Place and, as always, this is a fabulous way to kick off the month. So thank you to all these wonderful, powerful, and aspiring women for coming to converse and eat with us on March 2nd. If you're interested in learning more about the group, visit www.uwabc.org to see upcoming events, current members, and goals of the UWABC. It's a great organization for women (and men, they don't discriminate!) who are interested in learning more about what's going on in the community, how to get more involved, and how to meet other people with like interests!

This admirable support project will be introduced, officially named, and made public at this once-a-year event, complete with world class chocolate creations, dancing to the music of The Joshua Payne Trio, and a live and silent auction! Friday, March 19, will be an incredible night of love, dancing, great food, and more, as we celebrate a private wedding for Jade and her fiance! We can't wait to show you all pictures of the gorgeous decorations we have picked out with her!

Saturday, March 20, we are thrilled to be hosting West High's Junior Prom, themed "Where the Wild Things Are!" Creating a forest wonderland of sorts, we can't wait to have all these young bright-eyed students at Pierpont Place to celebrate their dance night!

On Sunday, March 21, one of our preferred photographers, Brody Dezember, is coming to be a part of one of our unique and eclectic wedding ceremonies. Rachel and Blake have shown us their personalities as we have planned this great affair - and we can't wait to see it happen! Dezember Photography's bridal and groomal pictures of Rachel and Blake show a fabulous edgy and artistic perspective of this charming couple, and we can't wait to see photos of the wedding itself!

After this busy weekend, huge events Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, our staff will be glad for a little break! However, we still have a number of events on the books - so we'll be jumping to attention!

A Weekend to Remember!

This weekend at Pierpont Place was the perfect combination of goofy and fabulous fun with Pierpont Place's Champagne Toast to 2010 on Friday night, and the beautiful wedding of the new Mr. and Mrs. Merlen on Saturday evening. Needless to say, our staff was working hard!

Friday evening was an absolute hoot with FunnyFace Photobooth (don't worry, we have pictures), much needed relaxation with our amazing professional masseuses providing free massages, delicious food from The Olive Bistro, champagne cocktails, and legally high-providing O2 oxygen bar. A long list of amazing things to do at Pierpont Place's Champagne Toast to 2010! We had over a hundred people show up, and they danced, ate, talked, laughed, and all together had a great time! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME!!
We have many people to thank for this unbelievably fun evening. Hosted by Pierpont Place, the event was co-hosted by GNO: Girls' Night Out and PYTI Party. Both of these groups are headed by strong, intelligent and successful women: Diana Young and Celeste Gleave respectively. We thank these ladies, and all of their friends, colleagues and constituents for being such strong advocates of creating fun and exciting events to get together for!

And for letting us all drink out of the gorgeous ice sculpture doubling as a drink luge!!

Now for the pictures, even better than telling the stories. I know I saw at least two conga lines, plenty of people piling out of the photobooth much like a clown-car (can 12 people really fit in a booth about 4 ft x 6 ft?), and dance moves that you wouldn't believe!!

I can't believe Pierpont Place's Champagne Toast to 2010 is finally almost here!

In less than a week, we're going to be schmoozing (and tastefully boozing) with the finest of Utah's professional, social, and fabulous men and women.
That's right, you heard me, MEN are invited!
You see, usually these quarterly public events are qualified as "girls' night out" and therefore draw the attention of the gents, but not the attendance.

Photos! With booths, cameras, and computers!

Photo booths are a huge trend at weddings and social events recently. Brides and Grooms want to be able to take home some immortalized memories from their huge day - and these photobooth options give them an opportunity for more candid memories (for themselves as well as their guests) than ever before!

Luckily, many companies that supply photobooths for events have quickly discovered that one of the most compelling reasons to have a photobooth around for your wedding or event is that you get to take home the (often blackmail fodder) printed proof afterward!

The books provided are often a gorgeous combination of friends' sentiments and well-wishes, combined with the fun and nutty nature of those people that always seem to be invited to the party...(yes folks, that person is usually me...) and who doesn't love to have a reminder of what kept you laughing all night?

Many of these companies have created duplicate imaging for each photo-op that comes along, one copy for the subjects of the fabulous photo fiasco, and one for the host! Then they're able to combine the hosts' photos into a travel-sized book, often complete with space to sign personal notes. One of the photobooth companies we use at Pierpont Place, FunnyFace Photobooth, has perfected the game by providing a plethora of props and funny costumes to spice up the booth.

Weddings are a fabulous time to add an extra personal touch to your event, but Photobooth capabilities have proven popular for birthdays, corporate events, social get-togethers, and any other social events too! Breaking the ice with your boss and co-workers by being goofy in a photobooth, and having a record of this fun cohesion, is a low-pressure way to ensure a little laughter in the office later on.

While at Pierpont Place we never have trouble laughing at ourselves, together, we still love to have proof of our easy-going attitudes and we love to show that we have fun at our events too!

Companies like FunnyFace leave nothing that can go wrong. With packages that include staff to ensure the lighting and positioning of the camera is perfect, and to monitor the photos and create the memories-book for the host to take home, the only thing left for you to do is jump in the booth and take as many pictures as you can!

It all sounds fabulously retro doesn't it? Going back to the days before everything was digital cameras and instant viewing...I love it!
Then again...we have the exactly opposite end of the spectrum...just recently I've been made aware of a brand new type of photobooth for any kind of event.

PictureThis is a new company where some fabulous and young gentlemen (and anyone else involved) have created a tech-savvy DIY photobooth - combining the user-friendly nature of touch screens with the futuristic technology capacities of the Apple desktop computer to create an integrated touch screen photobooth/physical and online guestbook/event kiosk all combined with the opportunity for the event hosts or bride and groom to provide a live slideshow of their choice of photos. This means during a wedding reception a guest can peruse engagement photos that have been preloaded on the computer, hand write a note that is touch translated into the computer database while maintaining the integrity of the handwriting, take funny photos to print out and/or send to the bride and groom, and participate in creating a book of memories that will be given to the host after the event.

Now if this all sounds science-fictioney to you...you probably need to catch up. Because this is the new wave of photobooth technology. And it's looking GOOD.

Valentine's Day weekend!

It's Valentine's Day tomorrow, and I know there are some of us out there still searching for the perfect little trinket, or huge gesture for their loved ones. Pierpont Place is taking another route and spending tonight, Saturday February 13th, helping to support a group of high school age girls who are spending their vacation traveling to Baluba, Uganda in Africa to help provide medical aide to patients suffering from leprosy.
That's a gift of unimaginable magnitude.

When descriptors fall short...

Last Saturday, Pierpont Place hosted yet another wedding that absolutely took my breath away. Not one, two, or three themes lent their creative flair to the ultimate decor of this event, but multiple decades (a mix of the 20s and 30s, as beautifully articulated by Heidi), multiple nations (European chic, American modern, and Dubai-like golden shine), and multiple astounding creative minds.

This photo captures only a tiny bit of the stunning glitz, glamour, elegance, and amazing "va va voom" of the entire place, but it's one of my favorite. Featuring one of the 20s style gilded chandeliers, perfectly lighting the gorgeous hanging swag, artfully integrated with the subtle peacock feather coloring and shimmering jewel touches....it takes my breath away.

Some of the following photos are of the perfectly coordinated aisle, the detailed seats for the guests, and the stunning table set-ups. I can honestly say I'm not raining this praise upon myself, the staff at Pierpont Place put together this marriage of colors, designs, accents, and finishing touches. And the beautiful bride contributed hugely - bringing in gilded angelic chaises, an arrangement of those amazing chandeliers - where somehow the subtle differences in colors, arrangements, and metallic hues pulled together an even more magical formation of glamour - and her own request for some natural, woody branches and additions to the usual floral centerpieces.

Can you see the collaboration?

The empty aisle shows the altar where Denise and Neil professed their love, with a touching ceremony complete with contributions from friends and family...the golden swag above the aisle lead gently across the room, tying the different colors together, and you can see how perfectly the pussywillow branches fit on either side of the altar.

In these photos you can see the array of colors and textures used to dress up the cabaret tables for the reception. The combination of the blue brocade and the shimmery gold and silver table linens created the vintage look of what I imagine to be 15th and 16th century French luxury, complete with glass accents to reveal the real beauty of each finishing touch.

And as for the cake?! Incredible! The layers were made to look like the fabric of Denise's gorgeous gown. The brooches were absolutely glittering, and created such a fantastically gentle look, as if the cake really were made of silk.
...and I must say...it tasted just as good as it looked!

I've said before, and I'll say again, how magical wedding at Pierpont Place are. The Brides and Grooms are always gracious, helpful, happy, thankful, creative visionaries who are great to work with - and the best part about it? The entire event is filled with love.
Love.
We love Love. Especially when we get to see it right in front of us.

It's a strange sensation, attempting to make friends over the internet. And I suppose for blogs it's not so much friends as it is...followers. Followees? Follow....ops?
What funny jargon we use online - but it all makes so much sense. I want to follow all the blogs of the fantastic writers and creative thinkers that I've found online over the years.

Amy Rubins of Fete Perfection in St Louis Park, MN (photo to the right from Wacky Wedding Planner blog) has Wacky Wedding Planner which is just a fantabulous blog about her experiences growing into a destination wedding planner (Take me to Costa Rica next time!)

The Bridal Bar provides incredible insight into new and unique ideas for wedding decor and entertainment - as the foremost wedding resource blog and company, they're great to keep up with.

Editor Christy at Junebug Weddings has the most Creative flair I've seen in vintage. The photos that are displayed just blow my mind - - It may just be an aspiration of mine to have our Pierpont Place weddings shown on Junebug someday! Our vintage style is pretty exceptional too!

Jennifer at Earth Friendly Weddings provides some incredible new ways of seeing everyday objects as being the beautiful accent necessary for the perfect eco-friendly wedding. (Photo to the left courtesy of Earth Friendly Weddings, creative credit to Minoo Hersinni, creative director of Au Ciel Design Studio) These views are wonderful to notice as we see a global transition toward more green and eco-friendly goods and services.

The whole team at Bliss Event Group blows me away with the local and destination weddings and events they plan. Seeing events that are managed from beginning to end really shows how much these people know what they're doing, and how much they believe in their product.

Many of these groups are just like us - - excited about their work, always ready to jump in for another event or wedding, and absolutely adamant that their client always comes first. It's a hard game to get into - event and wedding planning - and only the best succeed.
Thank goodness we're surrounded with such excellence.

We're excited to announce our next GNO Event! Although this time, it's not exactly a Girls' Night Out event...it's more like EVERYBODY'S NIGHT OUT!

Last November the GNO event was a great time, and we're expecting an even bigger turnout this time!

Is It Valentine's Day Already?

I suppose we should be used to grocery and convenience stores stocking Holiday candy and goods early, shouldn't we? By October 24th they assume we have all necessary Halloween supplies and switch themes (overnight, I feel!) to Thanksgiving before we've even thought of ditching the candy for the turkey and pumpkin pie!

And yet, while I whine about this preemptive action, in event planning we're always taking as much time as we can get to prep for the big day. That's why today I want to show you some fun ideas that have been named as the "trends of 2010." I've been looking around to see what's been predicted for events and weddings in 2010. I'm seeing a lot of color and extreme new ideas, and I can't wait!

*Economies of scale: While some people are saying that we're likely to see downsized events and parties because of the continued stress on the economy, I tend to disagree! This past year, our team at Pierpont has had to work hard to create great events on lower budgets than usual. And we have succeeded extraordinarily! Lower budgets don't mean you have to have a smaller or less amazing event, they just mean you'll need to be more creative with your resources! Thank goodness Pierpont Place has experience building our space up with minimal resources! Using natural resources and existing decor we built our stunning winter installment:

It provided a wonderfully natural and tuscan look, and worked fantastically with every event we had this winter! Using natural resources is an efficient and green way to decorate!

Another idea to save money is to use lighting to your advantage. At Pierpont Place we have gorgeous colored spotlights that can really add some pizazz to your decor!

Both of these examples show the depth the colored light can add to a scene. The options are endless!

PerfectWeddingGuide.com shows us some gorgeous ides for use of feathers with weddings this season. This can spill over to other events too, feathers could be an amazing addition to a theme for a dance, birthday party, or girls' night out!

While these are some extraordinary personal accents using feathers by Jade Rose Designs.

Something that we've always loved to play with is the use of bright but mismatched colors. InStyle Weddings shows some great use of different colors to create stunning table settings.

InStyle Weddings also suggests spending your creative points at your wedding on decorating the aisle, really drawing the eye and making a performance of your walk.

The spectacular bride and groom we had at Pierpont Place on New Year's Eve thought of this too, and really made the aisle into a floating walkway with large candles and white feathers.

One last note before I go: two hot hot HOT colors for 2010 are turquoise and violet. Turquoise is seen as a bright and optimistic color, easy to play with and play on for decorations, flowers, etc. Violet is a regal and strong color, beautifully elegant and the different shades of purple that team with violet create a really stunning color palette. The New Year brings Ever New Things!

Hello to all you fantastic 2010-ers! Since the stroke of midnight we've been continuing our fun work - On New Year's Eve we not only had Allison and Chad's superb celebration, but also the joint birthday party for Rebecca and Martin - a father daughter party? What a blast! They had casino tables, gorgeous gold linens, rockin' bar staff (provided by Premier Event Service, but of course!), and wonderful guests!
Then came the wonderful Monson/Price wedding on the first Monday of the year! What an incredible event - we do love weddings! Filled with love, support, happiness, and excitement - - what a great atmosphere to be a part of!
Speaking of weddings....in our next post we'll have a couple tips for all of you concerning weddings, wedding planning, wedding problem solving, etc. New news about 2010 wedding colors (we're excited for the bright palette!) and beautiful ways to do weddings on a budget!

Continuing our new year, we hosted the UWABC (Utah's Women's Alliance for Building Community - find out about this great group here: http://www.uwabc.org/) monthly breakfast - kicking off their 2010 calendar year as well! Pierpont Place often hosts these breakfasts, allowing women (and brave men) to come together, have a wonderful breakfast, and learn about some unique subject about which a member of the UWABC has prepared a presentation. It's a great time, and a great way to kick off your Tuesday morning!

Next came the Bridal Showcase!! For all you Utah Brides, we love the Salt Palace Bridal Showcase, and always participate! For one thing, the location is PERFECT for brides looking at the downtown area, as Pierpont Place is a mere 1/2 block from the Salt Palace! We know that brides are inundated with shows to go to in January - shows at La Caille, The Grand America, and the Salt Palace, to name just a few - - but the show at the Salt Palace has been around the longest, and we just Love participating!

We were able to see a lot of our friends and clients at the show - and we took the opportunity to show them what Pierpont Place and Premier have been up to lately. Since we are always improving our services and offerings, we love it when we can make sure you are getting the cutting edge in service!

Next came the Rowland Hall Prom! What a lucky group! They were able to take advantage of our gorgeous winter installment (It's coming down pretty soon! We've been creating gorgeous decor opportunities with this installment - looks like we'll have to get the creative juices flowing again!) They danced the night away, and loved our DJ so much that they're re-booking him for a future event too! What a success! Not that we're surprised....Troy brings the perfect music for any occasion and really creates an atmosphere! In any case, we love hosting events like this too, since these students might not get a lot of chances to see event venues in action. What fun to branch out, for all of us!

The following day we hosted the Equality Utah Jazz Brunch! Mingling, Music, Mimosas, and Senator Scott McCoy made this a perfect event! Equality Utah - striving for equality for everyone in Utah and beyond - is a great organization that really believes in, and fights for, their cause. We really admire the fortitude and perseverance behind these groups, and are happy to be a part of their events!

We had about a week to catch our breaths, and do some MAJOR overhaul with our inventory at Pierpont Place (I'll spare you the pictures from that mess :) It's been crazy!) - requiring ALL hands on deck and some grubby clothes. We're ready for Judge Memorial High School's prom on Saturday - - another dancing fiasco! Can't wait to tell you all about it later!

Happy New Year everybody! We hope your 2010 is off to a great start!

Ours is, after hosting Chad and Allison's star studded wedding ceremony and reception at Pierpont Place on New Year's Eve. What a blast - with 120 guests, many of whom stuck around to ring in the new year with great music, great food, great drinks, and greatest of all: Great Company!

It was a tear-filled ceremony (for us anyway... :p) and then a night of fun!

We're SO glad to have worked with Chad and Allison for the last year - watch them become "the Allens" - and know that we'll be hearing from them in the future for updates about their

happily married life!

It's the Holiday Season and we've been having an incredible time at Pierpont Place! We're gearing up for the New Year, and with 3 events in ONE night between Pierpont Place and Premier Event Services, we've earned the time off!Here's a synopsis of the gorgeous events

we've had over the past couple weeks!

We set up our Holiday Season installation, which was a gorgeous combination of magnolia leaf branches forming a delicate trellis, christmas lights, wicker balls, and beautiful chandeliers, all combined with tactful ribbon. Angie, Janice, Corbin, and Alissa all worked for hours getting everything perfectly set for all the upcoming events. Every year we put up an installment to last a few months, and it's so much fun to watch events come together under a common theme. Make sure to look at the pictures below to see how it all worked out!A surprise birthday party was a HUGE hit with the gorgeous gold and purple decorations the doting husband picked out for his beautiful wife!! We were so happy to be a part of Natalie's Surprise 40th Birthday Party - what a fortuitous time and loving couple! She was literally "surprised to tears" when she arrived. Of course...they were happy tears!

We also hosted Sheet Metal Works' Holiday Party where they had a blast socializing with wonderful food and great company (but of course!)
Next was our surprise Birthday Party (NOT 40 yet!! :) ) for our very own owner and star-studded boss Janice, organized by our wonderful Angie and Janice's loving and generous husband Jim! What a blast!! I WISH I had pictures of this one! With amazing food from the local Cedars of Lebanon and plenty of friends to go around, we Almost had her fooled! Janice saw her friend Pete through a window as she was walking up, even though Anita tried to pull him out of the way. So close!That weekend was Standard Optical's Holiday Party, and what a hit it was! This group is full of important and fun people, and we cannot WAIT to host their party again next year! They had stellar style with a ritzy red and black decor, and everyone at

Pierpont Place worked hard to make sure they had a great time!

Next, we hosted the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce December Luncheon, and as always, had a wonderful time chatting and eating with these leaders in the community. The next day was the Holiday Luncheon for the American Cancer Society chapter of Utah, and it was another wonderfully enjoyable time.

The next weekend was Zero Manufacturing and Xmission - both celebrating the Holidays in style. I'll share pictures when we get them, cause both of these groups had Pierpont Place

decked out to the nines! It was a blast!

Last, but DEFINITELY not least, Janice threw her daughter a birthday party that nobody will forget! A birthday party for the 4-year old in question, but also for the adults who attended! What an idea! From a caricature artist, to a magician with a live baby kangaroo, to finger food that everyone adored, to Santa Claus himself! Everyone stayed till the end, and now we all know who to ask when we want a birthday party in our honor....

It's been busy, and now we're heading into 2010! What an idea! Keep up to date with us, and we'll make sure to do the same with you!

Whew! Can you believe it's already December!? The Holiday season is upon us and I, for one, couldn't be more thrilled!
Pierpont Place is still busy while the winter coming straight for us!

Last Thursday night, December 3, we braved the cold to go to KRCL's 30th Anniversary Party! KRCL is one of Salt Lake City's best community radio stations, and after 30 years of faithful service, it was great to see almost 1000 people show up! What a turnout!
KRCL was also announcing their talented and wonderful new general manager Amy McDonald. She comes from a background of community involvement, artistic programming, and brilliant creativity!

The Pierpont Place staff was lucky enough to participate as well - showcasing our philanthropy/volunteer side. We tapped into local resources to find amazing local restaurants that wanted to support KRCL as well. HUGE thanks to Sugarhouse BBQ, Pat's BBQ, Sage's Cafe, Cosmopolitan Catering, Cedars of Lebanon, BayShore Cakes, and more! We pulled together food and great servers to help add another fun aspect to this busy night.

The combination of food, drink, live music and palpable energy made for an incredible night. Can I say again that there were almost 1000 people there!?

Photos will be posted soon, but if anybody's interested in participating in events like this, there is always a place for extra hands!

The rest of the weekend was fun too, celebrating a surprise 40th Birthday Party at Pierpont Place on Friday night. --Don't worry, the surprise worked, she cried happy tears! Saturday night we had a fun corporate party, and then finally some rest!

For 3 years, Pierpont Place has been a preferred venue of the Sundance Film festival and has provided the community an opportunity to get involved to enjoy great talent and music in conjunction to the festival. The event will be a combination of networking, runway fashion, great music and dancing. Anticipated attendance will be 300-500 guests including local business an festival audience, media, dignitaries, film and festival industry goers.

This year, Pierpont Place has partnered with Ghostly International to provide "top caliber" DJ talent from Chicago and New York. Webb Audio and Visual is to provide state of the art equipment and Full Nelson is to provide The Fashion Delerium Tour du Jour which is a traveling runway party that showcases cutting-edge designers and their newest fashions featuring Jared Gold designer of Black Chandelear and Baskit Underwear. Jared Gold is expected to make an announcement of a new Television project. Along with Jared's amazing fashions we will incorporate NOOKA watches as an official brand to be included in the show. Nooka is a perfect fit for this exclusive event.

This amazing collaboration of brands, fashion, decor and music talent will definitely mark the calendar as the Sundance event to not be missed!

September 13 - Toyota Challenge / Dew Tour / Antics party!

We got to host an enormous party last weekend - it as the Dew Tour after party hosted by Toyota and Up the Antics. They not only took the entire 5400 sq. ft. of our indoor space, but the whole adjacent parking lot as well. There were DJs crankin' music, pros hittin' the halfpipe, custom Antics screen printing, tricked-out Matrix cars on display, a photo booth, and art up for a silent auction. During the day, there was a skate clinic which was supporting Stoked, a nonprofit organization that helps get kids involved in sports. What a fun day!

This year's Outdoor Retailer show was a lot of fun!

For one of our events, we got to host Canoe & Kayak Magazine's 35th anniversary party - we expected 100 guests, and about 200 showed up! Considering Pierpont Place is only about half a block away from the Salt Palace Convention Center, I suppose it was easier to get here than people initially thought. There was tasty food, plenty of beer, and a big cake. There was also 2 large gobo lights, colorful uplighting, and an exciting video presentation (gotta love those crazy kayakers!). We are excited to host anniversary #36 and beyond, Canoe and Kayak Magazine!

Christmas in July for the Christmas Box House kids

We had so much fun with the Christmas Box House kids who came over for a day of games, art, magic, and sweet treats!

Through all of our fantastic donations, we were able to buy the all the kids new shoes and a new outfit, plus give them a day of fun at Pierpont Place. There was amazing magic from Mike Hamilton with Chief, an intriguing art project from Dan Ramjoue', face painting from Rainbow, balloon hats from Chef, exciting games from the local Relief Society, yummy frozen fruit drinks from Mowie Wowie, sandwiches from Subway! I think we succeeded in giving these kids a great time!
