Corporate Holiday Party

We had some really beautiful and fun holiday parties this season! From 24 to almost 250 guests, they all had their own festive flair.

Waterford High School Winter Formal

We do it all! We're not limited to weddings and business meetings - we are a great place for school dances, too! This winter formal for the Waterford High School was beautiful with the gold undertones and splashes of garnet red. Of course, we left plenty of room for the kids to get their groove on!

Cortny & Johnny's Wedding

What a fun and beautiful wedding - congrats to Cortny and Johnny. I must say that having 3 different punk bands to play at your reception is a first for Pierpont Place! Loved it.

September 13 - Toyota Challenge / Dew Tour / Antics party!

We got to host an enormous party last weekend - it as the Dew Tour after party hosted by Toyota and Up the Antics. They not only took the entire 5400 sq. ft. of our indoor space, but the whole adjacent parking lot as well. There were DJs crankin' music, pros hittin' the halfpipe, custom Antics screen printing, tricked-out Matrix cars on display, a photo booth, and art up for a silent auction. During the day, there was a skate clinic which was supporting Stoked, a nonprofit organization that helps get kids involved in sports. What a fun day!

This year's Outdoor Retailer show was a lot of fun!

For one of our events, we got to host Canoe & Kayak Magazine's 35th anniversary party - we expected 100 guests, and about 200 showed up! Considering Pierpont Place is only about half a block away from the Salt Palace Convention Center, I suppose it was easier to get here than people initially thought. There was tasty food, plenty of beer, and a big cake. There was also 2 large gobo lights, colorful uplighting, and an exciting video presentation (gotta love those crazy kayakers!). We are excited to host anniversary #36 and beyond, Canoe and Kayak Magazine!

Thank You Donors!

On behalf of the patients whoes lives you have touched, thank you for coming to Pierpont Place to donate blood at our first Red Cross Blood Drive! We appreciate you taking the time to help make sure blood is available before it is needed. And, because summer is such a difficult time for keeping up on the blood supply, you have truly made a positive impact in many people's lives.

BLOOD DRIVE - July 22 - convenient downtown location!

A Blood Drive is being hosted by Pierpont Place -
163 W Pierpont Ave (240 S) -
on Tuesday, July 22, 10am to 3pm.

Summertime is considered "trauma season" to medical professionals. There is typically a higher demand for blood due to the increase in critical injuries and surgeries, while there is a decrease in people donating. Your help is greatly needed! The entire process takes about 45-60 minutes, and that small commitment of time could mean saving the lives for up to 3 people with your one donation.

All presenting donors will be entered into a raffle to win great prizes!
- 9-MONTH LEASE ON A 2008 SATURN AURA
- $100 GAS CARD
- PEERY HOTEL ONE-NIGHT STAY
- SQUATTERS GIFT CERTIFICATE
- Plus, more!

Please consider taking advantage of the convenient downtown location to 'give the gift of life.' To make an appointment, you can go online to
www.givelife.org and enter the Sponsor Code: pierpontplace. If you have questions or if you'd like to make an appointment over the phone, contact Nancy at 738-0890 or nancy@pierpontplace.com.

The Christmas Box children get "Christmas in July"

Pierpont Place will open their doors exclusively for the children of the Christmas Box House in order to give the underprivileged children a fun, memorable, carnival called “Christmas in July.”

Pierpont Place, an event venue in downtown Salt Lake City, has organized the carnival and various sponsors including: Desert First Credit Union, Rio Tinto, and DPR Communication. The carnival will consist of games, prizes, art, music, entertainment and food for the children. Subway and Maui Wowi, have donated lunch and slushies, the Utah Blaze mascot, Chief, will make an appearance in conjunction to a magic act performed by Mike Hamilton. The Park View Young Women’s Group of the LDS church will provide carnival games and prizes, a large mural created and outlined by Dan Ramjoué will be painted by the kids and hung at the Christmas Box House, Rainbow the clown will paint faces and create balloon animals, and much more. Additionally, a shopping trip for the kids will be arranged prior to the event granting each child a new pair of shoes of their choice that they will be able to wear to the event.

Pierpont Place has decided to donate our venue and/or services to at least one charitable or non-profit organization each month. The Christmas Box House will be highlighted during the month of July. The Christmas Box House is a non- profit organization which takes custody of children from abusive family situations and assists with the placement of the children into loving homes. The carnival is a chance for the children of The Christmas Box House to live life worry-free for a day. Janice Boes, owner of Pierpont Place agrees with the Christmas Box House moto, “Every child should be allowed to have a Childhood!” The carnival is a way for Pierpont Place and sponsoring partners to grant the children of the Christmas Box House a childhood for a day.
The carnival for the Christmas Box House children will be held on July 31, 2008 from 3:30-6:30 PM at Pierpont Place 163 W Pierpont Ave. For any further information please contact Janice Boes at (801) 598-4444.

SLC CVB ~ Member Connection Party

Another fun evening at Pierpont Place! Can't always have the "ups" without the "downs" tho ... a couple flower vases got sacrificed to the event gods. One of ours, one of Culinary Crafts' - smashed right to the floor. Oh well. Nothing a broom and back-up vases couldn't handle in a jiff!

The Sex on the Beach drink in the ice sculpture (yes, inside the ice and dispensed with a spiget!) was quite a treat... and fairly potent. Needless to say, that beverage had to be replenished by the bartender a few times.

Thanks so much to Rob for the lovely live jazz music, and thanks to all of our other sponsors for donating prizes, time, and effort. (Really, Marshall, don't worry about the vase... :) )
